Council sees $6.65M Sportsplex proposal with $1.5M EDC support; CIP totals ~$31.6M

Redmond said the Sportsplex build‑out is projected at $6,650,000, with $1,500,000 pledged by the Economic Development Corporation to support that project. The CIP overall was presented at about $31.6 million, with facility expansion, parks projects, water and wastewater projects, mobility projects and reclaimed water identified across the plan.
Staff told council that many of the CIP projects are expected to be financed with 2024‑series general obligation bonds and that the bond issuance will return to council on Sept. 17 for consideration. Council members asked about schedules and procurement for the larger projects; staff said they plan to bring more detailed project timelines when bond actions come back to council.
