The Buffalo ISD board voted to approve a resolution to begin construction of a junior high campus and associated additions and delegated authority to execute contracts and proceed with the project. Chair moved that "we adopt the resolution to approve the construction of local ISD and local junior high campus and local junior high addition projects and delegation of authority regarding the same," and a board member seconded the motion; the chair declared the motion passed.
Board members and staff discussed the vetting of bids and the accounting trail that will show any scope adjustments and final contract amounts. The presenter told the board the figures on the bid tab represent what was open on bid day and that any adjustments will be reflected in contract documents for audit purposes. The board indicated it will use the recommended budget — roughly $2.5 million under the original bond authorization — as the working project budget going forward.
