Council OKs change order to use leftover TDA funds for street projects

The Burton City Council approved a contract change order allowing Hoffman Dozer Services to complete additional small street projects on S. Railroad, S. Main and Brazos using leftover TDA CDV21-0440 funds from a previous water-line replacement project. BEFCO Engineer Bradley Loehr told the council the additional items "will not exceed the grant funds available and approval will need to be received from TDA in order to move forward." The motion to approve was made by Councilmember Nathan Kalkhake and seconded by Councilmember Jeff Eckhardt; recorded support was noted from Councilmembers Tommie Gilmon, Paul McLaughlin and Macey Tidwell.
The packet indicates the proposed additional work would be submitted to the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) for approval and the city expects the items to be covered by the remaining grant funds. Council approved the change order contingent on that grant approval, and staff will coordinate required submittals to TDA.
