City reports WWTP sludge removal and pending TCEQ complaint about generators

Utility contractor Dustin Lozano told the council that after clearing a utility easement a couple of manhole covers were missing and crews are replacing them; he also said the wastewater-treatment-plant's dry and wet sludge "will be removed within a month" and that the Lucherk lift station on FM 1697 was repaired.
The city secretary reported the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality called regarding a formal complaint because the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations did not have a generator; she told TCEQ the city is in the process of getting a generator for the WWTP and a portable unit for lift stations. Staff also noted lead-and-copper sampling had been submitted and a lead-service-line inventory is due Oct. 16.
