Students and Staff Recognized at Burnet CISD December Board Meeting

Burnet CISD recognized student award winners and staff achievements on Dec. 15, 2025, including BHS Students of the Month, Christmas card contest winners, UIL qualifiers, and National Board Certified teachers.
The Burnet CISD board honored multiple students and staff at its Dec. 15 meeting. Burnet High School Principal Casey Burkhart and Science Department Chair Cindy Roberts recognized Students of the Month Samuel Howell and Kendell Koschtial. The RJ Richey Elementary Christmas Card winners were Bowie Lockwood (first, $75), Ava Patel (second, $50), and Quinton Shelburn (third, $25).
Athletic and academic recognitions included members of the BHS cross-country team who qualified for UIL State competition (recognized by Coach Simon Hairston), Callen Smith's THSCA Academic All-State recognition (Coach Jayci Craig), and BHS volleyball Academic All-State qualifiers honored by Coach Crystal Shipley. Coach Shipley was also recognized as District 24-4A Coach of the Year. Dr. Rachel Jones recognized Patricia Peña and Amalia Koschtial as National Board Certified teachers; Debra Lancaster was noted as a recipient who will be honored at the January meeting.
