Midvale adopts Water Use and Preservation element of general plan

Planning staff told the council the Water Use and Preservation Element is required by state law and is intended to strengthen municipal tools for water efficiency. Wendelin Knobloch said Midvale is positioned to implement the element alongside its 2024 Water Conservation Plan and 2020 Drinking Water System Master Plan and that future work will include calibrating ordinances to improve outdoor water efficiency.
After staff presentation and no public comment, the council adopted Ordinance 2025-O-19. The Planning Commission had unanimously recommended approval. Council members recorded unanimous support among those present (one absent).
