At the Jan. 12 meeting the board recognized student and staff achievements across campuses. The 7th-grade football team was honored for an undefeated season. Individual Cougar Spotlight awards went to students John Luke Martin and Kennedy O'Bannion and staff awards to Jackie Acreman (elementary), Christi Sylvester (junior high), Jill Wylie and Janna Castle (high school), and Steve Jurik (district).
District career-and-technical-education and extracurricular programs were highlighted: students and staff presented the CTE Audio Visual Production and Printing and Imaging program (students Spencer Buchanan, Gigi Skinner, Kason Broom, Jadon McCarty) and Club America (Trinton White, Spencer Buchanan, Joslynn Tacker, Morgan Hartt). The presentations described student participation and program activities; the minutes list presenters but do not include presentation text or handouts.
