District outlines bond vote outreach: posters, tabling and public presentations

District staff (speaker 3) briefed the board on a multi-pronged outreach campaign ahead of an upcoming bond vote, including districtwide posters, building-specific materials, tabling at parent–teacher conferences, presence at musical and drama events, farmers market appearances and scheduled public presentations.
Staff said each building will have a district poster as well as a building-specific poster, and encouraged board members to sign up to staff tables at events. “Employees have to be just factual, but as a board member, you can give your opinion,” staff said while describing how board members can speak at outreach events. Staff also noted a postcard mailing that many residents had begun to receive and said more detailed report materials (NWEA and other items) would be provided to the board later in the week.
Board members discussed staffing tabling shifts at events and the value of a board presence at community gatherings. Staff said the first public information presentation will be a more detailed PowerPoint session in the high school library scheduled for the end of February.
