The Boyne City Public Schools board opened its Jan. 27 meeting by completing the annual reorganization, electing its officers for the coming year.
The Chair called for nominations for president and closed nominations after a name was put forward; the Chair then directed a unanimous ballot and members responded in favor. The board then nominated and approved a vice president — "I nominate Joel Schroth," a member said during the vote — followed by elections for treasurer and secretary. The Chair congratulated the newly elected officers after each voice vote.
The reorganization took place early in the public meeting and was part of regularly scheduled business. The Chair reminded members that committee assignments are listed in the packet and invited members to submit preference changes or recommend new committees.
