The Cactus City Council met January 28, 2026, and approved its consent agenda, which included minutes from the Dec. 17, 2025 meeting and accounts payable for December. Alderman Raul Ceniceros moved approval and Alderman Adan Estrada seconded; the council voted "All in favor."
In a session that produced multiple unanimous motions, the council extended the city's Public Funds Agreement with Happy State Bank through March 31, 2028; set the order for the May 2, 2026 general election (the last day to apply for candidacy is Feb. 13, 2026); passed Resolution No. 2026.01.28A to suspend a West Texas Gas Utility, LLC rate increase for 45 days to Feb. 6, 2026 under section 104.301 of the Gas Utility Regulatory Act; authorized bidding for 62 lots in the Cactus Parkview Addition at a minimum of $2.85 per square foot; approved submission of grant application No. 4865503 to the Office of the Governor for the criminal investigator position; and authorized financing for four Public Works vehicles not to exceed $225,000. All motions were carried on voice votes.
