CVRPC presents updated Future Land Use Map to Williamstown planners

Lory Banbury, a planner with the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC), presented the 2026 Future Land Use Areas map and said CVRPC staff reviewed thousands of parcels across the region to update town-level designations. "Brian – our colleague – literally went thru 28,000 parcels in the Central VT region in several different categories," Banbury told the commission and pointed members to the online map at https://bit.ly/CVRPCFLUMAP.
Banbury explained the map’s color codes—dark green for the Flood District, dark purple for Village Center and light purple for Village Enterprise—and said CVRPC expanded Williamstown’s State Designated Village Center to include the Williamstown Historic District, a change that will occur automatically under the regional mapping update. She asked the commission to share CVRPC’s survey on Front Porch Forum and said the online tool can be used to pull parcel-level information for future planning work.
