The Williamstown Selectboard voted to create seven private roads to comply with updated addressing standards and to improve 911 dispatch accuracy. May Edson, acting as the town’s E‑9‑1‑1 Coordinator, told the board the change affects 33 lots at Limehurst Mobile Home Park and multiple lots at Northwind Mobile Home Park and along the Pikes area.
Edson presented the names and locations the town will adopt: Limestone Drive (Pvt), Cobalt Drive (Pvt), Garnet Drive (Pvt), Serpentine Drive (Pvt), and Quartz Drive (Pvt) for Limehurst; Davenport Lane (Pvt) for the Northwind Mobile Home Park off Business Center Road; and Pit Lane (Pvt) near the town line. "There are 33 mobile home lots that all share the same address of ‘4102 VT RT 14 Lot # (1 -33)’, which is no longer permissible under the updated addressing standards," Edson said. Scott McCarthy moved to create the requested private roads, Clayton Woodworth seconded, and the motion carried.
The board and staff discussed the operational impact: readdressing in Limehurst will change addresses for 19 of the 33 lots, and Pit Lane will serve six addresses along a shared driveway affecting multiple parcels and owners. The action aims to reduce confusion for emergency responders and bring local addressing into compliance with state standards; the Selectboard did not identify additional funding required for the readdressing in the minutes.
