At the same meeting the board voted 7-0 to publish a proposed tax rate of $0.8350, broken down as $0.6250 for Maintenance & Operation and $0.2100 for the Interest & Sinking Fund. The motion to publish the rate was made by Misty Lucherk and seconded by Demetrius Colvin.
The board specified that public comments on the budget and tax rate will be allowed at the Aug. 27 meeting and stated that, following any public comment, the board will adopt the budget and set the tax rate.
