The council packet notes the 2023–2024 Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award to "Rebuild/Repair Knittel Lift Station," and staff reported the project is now in the planning stages.
The packet also records that an application for the 2025–2026 TDA CDBG was submitted for wastewater and drainage improvements south of Highway 290. Council did not take a separate vote on these grant items at the Nov. 12 meeting; staff indicated that engineering work and grant administration will continue through planning phases.
BEFCO Engineering was identified as the firm preparing a Project Information Form for the Texas Water Development Board when the TWDB funding window opens Dec. 1, indicating coordination between grant and loan funding options for wastewater infrastructure.
