Councilmembers reviewed options for surveying residents about city services and agreed to delay a larger, citywide survey until early next year to avoid duplication with recent outreach by the chamber and social media. Instead, the council approved sending a brief three-question survey with September utility bills to gather feedback from residential and commercial customers.
Mayor Karen Buck told members there "was a short 3 question survey in their packets that was going out with the September bills to our residential and commercial customers in hopes of learning their opinions of the current solid waste collector." The mayor noted there are relatively few complaints from residents but that repeated dumpster issues suggest the current provider is not meeting commercial needs. No formal procurement or contract change was made at the workshop; the survey is intended only to collect feedback for future council consideration.
