The Willard City Council unanimously approved proposed amendments to the current fiscal year (FY 2025–26) budgets after a staff presentation outlining fund variances and reclassifications. Finance Representative Corey Urie said the General Fund saw higher-than-anticipated property, sales and use tax and road tax revenues, offset by lower-than-expected fees in lieu.
Urine (sic) outlined specific amendments: a newly added $35,000 line for street cuts (account 10-34-2-20) representing excavation and street restoration fees paid by residents and developers; a $25,000 increase in professional fees (account 10-43-3-10) reclassified from the Parks Department to Administration; a $50,000 increase to gain on sale of assets in the Capital Projects Fund; and fund-specific changes in Water and Sewer funds driven by hydrant meter rentals and impact fee timing. After discussion, a motion by Councilmember Jacob Bodily to approve the amendments passed unanimously.
