Village staff reported several operational and community updates on May 19. Staff said a water-main break on May 7 in the 900 block of Franklin was repaired in-house and no boil advisory was issued. Manager Gary Copeland also reported the Recycle Rally on May 3 was successful and that the Village provided two employees to help; billing for tire collection awaited an invoice.
Police-related items included recognition that Corporal Little represented Waynesville in a procession for Deputy Henderson, an officer killed in the line of duty, and that Officer Kirsch participated in a convoy for Eli, a child with cancer; Mayor Earl Isaacs, Chief Copeland, and Lt. Bledsoe attended the Police Memorial Ceremony in Lebanon on May 15. Administrative announcements included that the Village received the final installment of CVT funds toward the stoplight at Route 42 and North Street and that a car show fundraiser for WMA is scheduled for July 20 downtown. Mayor Isaacs complimented completed work on upper Franklin, saying "the project is moving along, and the Village is looking good."
