Council held first reading for Ordinance No. 2025-015 to create the Main Street Capital Projects Fund (Fund 4901).
"This will create a fund that will make it easier to track the amount saved for the Main Street project, as this project keeps growing. It will also make it more transparent," Finance Director Jamie Morley told council. The measure received a first reading and was approved for first-reading status 5-0; further action will occur in a subsequent meeting.
Separately, the MOMS Committee identified trees to be planted on Main Street and Chief Copeland said he will meet with City of Franklin staff to explore grant opportunities to support downtown improvements and event safety infrastructure.
