Chief Gary Copeland reported April 21 that Officer Kirsch led a parade of roughly 60 safety vehicles for Eli, a 6-year-old local child with leukemia who wants to be a police officer. Copeland said the department held the event to honor Eli and boost community morale.
Copeland also said officers have been fitted for new bulletproof vests with a total cost around $15,000 and that the Village’s portion will be about $3,000. He circulated a flyer for the Annual Police Memorial on May 15 at 822 Memorial Drive and noted participation in outside ceremonies, including Warren County Court’s Annual Peer Mentor ceremony.
