At its May 5 meeting, the MOMS committee indicated a preference to hire Greenworks for a planned tree-replacement project and identified several species to be installed once funding is available.
Chris Hice reported on four quotes for tree replacement and said the committee preferred working with Greenworks. Committee members identified planting two Eastern redbuds near a powerline and a combination of Autumn Brilliance, serviceberry, Copper Rocket and paperbark maple as the preferred palette. Hice said the Village can undertake tree removal and that "the contractor should auger out the root system."
The committee did not set a funding source at the meeting; members instructed staff to proceed with selection of the vendor and plantings "once we have the funding." There was no recorded formal vote on awarding a contract during this meeting.
