The Chair told the board the town is awaiting notification on a salt-shed grant in the next month or two and that if the grant is not awarded the town could pursue a bond to proceed. The Chair also said the town has about $90,000 in reserve for Hamlet Park from subdivision-fee collections.
On the West End Bridal (also referenced as West Ham Bridal) project, the Chair reported that the engineer (GPI) warned the previously planned $1.2 million budget is likely infeasible and may rise to roughly $1.5 million. Members said material and labor costs are increasing and the board should plan for higher project costs.
The Chair also reported the town received one solar-panel bid at $15,000, $10,000 over the budgeted amount; members agreed to discuss that bid at the next town-board meeting. The board plans to continue pursuing bandshell grants this year.
