Council approved a contract with SPI to renew the wastewater treatment-plant permit; Sharon Monroe moved the contract approval, Amanda Molnar seconded, and the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. The minutes note SPI completed the previous permit renewal and will undertake the renewal work again.
An estimate for repairs was presented that included replacement/repair of 10' 1/4-turn valves and patching a bleach-injection pipe. Bob Sutherland moved to consider the estimate and Sharon Monroe seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. During public presentation, citizen Kandy Willaby commented that the estimate had been provided by a plumber who no longer held a license; council discussed and recorded that the specific work did not require a licensed plumber per the meeting record.
