The Hillsdale Town Board approved preliminary park drawings for the west side of Hamlet Park showing a band shell, two EV chargers in the north parking area, and additional plantings along north and west borders.
Board members raised drainage and site constraints and asked planning and grant volunteers to stay involved in communications with consultants. "I think it's in the best interest to keep Amy and I involved in the communications with the consultant," one board member said, noting her role helping secure the grant. Members also discussed that the drawings are preliminary and that a working plan will require coordination with installers and utility companies as part of the next design steps.
The board also authorized the bidding process for construction of the band shell so work can move forward once final design and funding align. Staff indicated there may be grants available to pay for chargers and installation; the board asked staff to return with more detailed site plans and grant opportunities.
