Council approves minutes, payments and multiple administrative items

At a special Oct. 10 meeting in Calvert, the council unanimously approved prior minutes, payment of accounts payable, an interlocal water-well assistance agreement, a 2024 audit engagement letter, updates to CD signatories (Resolution No. 2024-002) and view-only online banking access for the mayor and city administrator.
Calvert City Council met on Oct. 10, 2024, at Calvert City Hall and approved several routine administrative items, voting unanimously on motions to accept prior minutes, pay accounts payable, and adopt a series of financial and intergovernmental measures.
Council Member Jan Walston moved to accept the minutes as presented; Mayor Pro Tem Bobbie Alford seconded and the motion passed with all members voting in favor. Council Member Allen Wiese then moved to pay the accounts payable as presented; Council Member Grimes seconded and that motion also passed unanimously.
The body approved an Interlocal Government Agreement with the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District for Water Well Assistance after a motion from Council Member Grimes and a second from Council Member Wiese. The council also approved the 2024 Seidel Schroeder audit engagement letter on a motion by Council Member Jason Hoffpauir, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Bobbie Alford. For each recorded vote on these items the minutes state "with a vote all in favor."
Council approved Resolution No. 2024-002 to update CD signatories and authorized the City Administrator to seek the most favorable local interest rate. Proposed signatories named in the record for CD 3100007088 were Allen Wiese, Jason Hoffpauir and Sergio Loya; for CD 3100007162 the proposed signatories were Bobbie Alford, Jan Walston and Layla Wright. The council also approved view-only online banking access for the mayor and City Administrator.
The meeting recessed into executive session for legal and personnel consultation and reconvened without action on personnel items. The council reconfirmed its next meeting for Oct. 28, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
