City administrator flags high water loss, $73,500 generator bid and other maintenance needs

City Administrator Loya told the Calvert City Council that the city is experiencing a high rate of water loss and is addressing several infrastructure needs. Loya reported an updated bid from Hensel Electric for $73,500 to install a generator at the sewer plant and said pavilion repairs are on schedule with additional beams and drainage being added.
On streets, Loya said the street repair program will use the recent 5K run as a template for prioritizing repairs, and staff provided a chipper-repair estimate of $1,216. Loya also said police vehicles were moved off streets to avoid heat-related electronic damage and that staff are pursuing FEMA and EPA grant opportunities.
