Calvert council adopts lower 2024 tax rate of $0.27 per $100

At its Aug. 26 meeting the Calvert City Council voted unanimously to adopt the proposed 2024 tax rate of $0.27 per $100 of assessed property value. Council Member Wiese moved for adoption, Council Member Walston seconded, and the council recorded both verbal and written votes in favor.
The decision follows a public hearing held at 5:11 p.m. during which no members of the public spoke. The approved rate represents a reduction from the 2023 rate of 0.28500 per $100 valuation and will be reflected in tax calculations for the 2024 tax year.
