South Ogden council adopts FY2026 budget, corrects line item and sets certified tax rate

The South Ogden City Council voted to adopt the FY2026 budget on Aug. 19 after amending a draft error noted by Finance Director Peter Anjewierden.
At the council meeting, members approved a staff-recommended correction changing line item 51-30-875 from $10,000 to $8,500 and established the certified tax rate at 0.002578%. City Manager Matt Dixon stated the budget also included three donations: $3,600 to Bonneville Communities That Care, $1,000 to Bonneville High School for graduation activities, and a one-time $9,858 donation to the YCC. The motion to adopt Resolution 25-25, as amended, was moved by Council Member Jeremy Howe and seconded by Council Member Jeanette Smyth; the roll-call vote recorded five yes votes (Stewart, Howard, Smyth, Stephens, Howe) and the resolution passed.
Finance Director Peter Anjewierden had presented the budget during the earlier work session and pointed out the error that required correction before adoption. The council did not request additional changes during the public meeting and completed the formal roll call to enact the budget.
