Mayor Russell Porter opened the Truth in Taxation public hearing during the South Ogden City Council meeting on Aug. 5, 2025 to receive comments on a proposed increase to the city's portion of property taxes. Robin Holley (the minutes also spell the name as "Robin Holly" elsewhere) came forward and spoke against increasing property taxes.
Finance Director Peter Anjewierden told the council the City provided the required public notice and explained what the maximum tax increase would cost for property owners. According to the minutes, a majority of council members later indicated they were comfortable increasing the city's tax rate by the full 0.002578 percentage points discussed; the minutes do not record a formal roll-call adoption of the increase at this meeting. The Council closed the public hearings by unanimous voice vote.
