Samantha Hyatt, with Texas Communities Group, had urged the council during the public hearing to pursue stronger code enforcement on Main Street and "strongly recommends to issue a 30-60-day abatement," and specifically recommended a 30-day abatement for the property at 501 6th Street. The council treated the recommendation as part of its consideration and approved the formal order.
