EDC details incentives, trainings and $250,000 in small-business support

The presenter said the EDC hosted five training workshops (HR, marketing, QuickBooks, AI) and a business appreciation event; staff conducted 41 business-retention visits. “We have 39 businesses this year that received small incentives totaling $250,000,” the presenter stated. The FY24–25 budget proposes a new 'medium incentive' level to allow awards up to $50,000 to be approved by the EDC’s small incentive committee rather than returning each award to council.
Council members praised the outreach and volunteer engagement and urged continued support for downtown businesses, while staff said they will continue reporting program outcomes to council as awards are made.
