The Selectboard confirmed a community meeting on August 16 from noon to 2:00 pm at the Newbury Village fire station to discuss tree management on the Common. The board encouraged residents and stakeholders to attend, and Selectboard member Andrew Lee reviewed topics from the Urban & Community Forestry Program that will be covered.
Following discussion, the board approved an amended Request for Proposals (RFP) to remove threatened ash trees from the Common; the minutes set a bid deadline of July 29 at 5:00 pm. The action included approval of the RFP as amended but did not include vendor selections at the July 8 meeting.
