Selectboard member and Road Commissioner Shauna Prime reported that work on the Rogers Hill culvert is proceeding smoothly but that contractors encountered an unforeseen ledge. The minutes record that the ledge will require about five more yards of abutment concrete and that Prime is negotiating with the engineer about who will cover the extra cost.
Highway Foreman Mike Hastings said there have been no problems with the temporary road closure related to the culvert work. The board did not take further action at the meeting beyond noting the change order risk and monitoring the engineer’s response.
