Canyon ISD recognizes state‑level student competitors; receives Fine Arts impact report

The Canyon Independent School District Board of Trustees formally recognized student groups who qualified for state‑level competition, including CHS FFA state competitors, WPHS baseball state semifinalists, CHS girls golf state competitors, the RHS One Act Play company, and UIL academic qualifiers from Canyon and West Plain high schools. The recognitions were introduced by Kirstyn Tarr and acknowledged the coaches and directors who accompanied the students.
Following the recognitions, Chris Hawkins presented a Fine Arts Impact Report to the Board highlighting student achievement and program participation across the district. The presentation came during a meeting in which trustees also heard budget and operational updates; trustees did not take separate action on the Fine Arts report during the meeting.
