Commission names housing board appointees and approves amendment to Kim Road sale after executive session

Following an executive session on multiple closed-session topics, the Commission returned to open session at 5:56 p.m. and approved appointments to the Canyon Housing Program Board: Matt Briggs was appointed to the seat vacated by Tim Tucker as the Happy State Bank representative, and Stan Pena was appointed to the seat vacated by Wes Green as the WTAMU representative. Commissioner Robyn Cranmer moved the appointments and Commissioner Danny Potter seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The commission also adopted Amendment No. 1 to the Commercial Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreement with Sad Monkey Development LLC related to the Kim Road property and authorized the City Manager to represent the city in execution and closing of the sale, including all necessary closing documents. The commission then returned to executive session and later reconvened at 7:00 p.m. with no further action recorded.
