Canyon approves Atmos Energy annual rate review mechanism tariff

City Manager Joe Price presented Resolution No. 09-2026 explaining the Rate Review Mechanism (RRM) tariff negotiated between Atmos Energy Corp., West Texas Division and the Steering Committee of Cities served by Atmos West Texas. Price said the RRM substitutes for the annual interim rate adjustment process defined by Section 104.301 of the Texas Utilities Code and requires the company to reimburse cities' reasonable ratemaking expenses.
Mayor Pro-Tem Cody Jones moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Robyn Cranmer seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The resolution directs delivery of the adopted resolution to Atmos West Texas and legal counsel for the steering committee as required by the item text.
