DC Chamber praises DLCP's tech upgrades and urges funding for bridge project

Chinyette Hubbard, president and CEO of the DC Chamber of Commerce, testified that the BEST Act implementation and the new corp online system have already eased the licensing process and that the DC Bridge Project — the planned integration of corp online and business licensing platforms — will further streamline filings for firms of all sizes. "The DC Bridge Project will greatly streamline the licensing process for applicants by reducing the number of documents they must submit to apply for a new or renew their license," Hubbard said.
Hubbard told the committee the chamber supports full funding so DLCP can finalize the bridge project, fold in occupational and professional licensing databases, and continue improvements that make it easier to start and operate businesses in the District of Columbia. She noted the BEST Act reduced licensing categories and fees and that the new corp online system (launched December 2025) allows many filings to be done online and reduces rejected filings.
