D.C. committee hears support for vendor-focused Vending Modernization bill (B26‑332)

ANC leaders and vendor advocates generally backed B26‑332’s vendor‑support approach. Commissioner Jeremy Sherman said the study’s recommendations for "vending, branding, and infrastructure" could make enforcement simpler by standardizing equipment and locations and argued for a centralized management entity to sustain improvements. Jeff Gilbert of Beloved Community Incubator called B26‑332 "a much better bill," while also cautioning it could still create discretion that risks recriminalizing vendors if not carefully implemented.
