SBCC staff to post CR102-based amendments and work with counsel before August adoption deadline
Summary
Staff will add editorial flags and sponsored-amendment columns to the public-comment tracker, batch similar responses and coordinate with legal counsel to answer statutory authority questions in advance of upcoming weekly work sessions and the Aug. 28 adoption date.
Council members asked staff to organize the large volume of comments into editorial versus substantive groups and to post a tracker that shows sponsored amendments and editorial corrections. Dustin said staff can add a column for representation and flag editorial items; responses to public comments can be batched where subject matter is identical.
Todd and others asked Derek and staff to produce legal guidance on whether certain local amendments—especially those affecting residential scope—must return to SBCC review. Staff reiterated the near‑term schedule: weekly work sessions through mid‑August, proposed amendments posted ahead of each meeting, and the statutory posting timeline that leads to final adoption in late August.
