Under addenda item 52 the Springfield Board of Education voted to approve a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and retroactive salary adjustments tied to a new agreement between the Springfield Board and the Springfield Education Association for the period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2027. The resolution's text in the agenda reads: "BE IT RESOLVED, that the Springfield Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Negotiations' Committee, approve the Memorandum of Agreement and retroactive salary for those individuals who resigned their position with the Board prior to ratification of the new Agreement between the Springfield Board of Education and the Springfield Education Association for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2027." The motion to approve was moved by Mrs. Rubin and seconded by Mrs. Turnbull.
The board approved the MOA on roll call: Vice President Tracey Rinaldi, Adriana Silva, Hilary Turnbull, Dana Kelly and Kristy Rubin voted Yes; the minutes record those roll-call votes. The MOA will be implemented through the board's payroll and human-resources procedures and retroactive salary payments will be made to the employees identified in the agreement; the minutes show the approval was recorded in open session.
