The School District 69 Board of Education on June 17 accepted the immediate resignations of Board President Steve Dembo and Secretary Fernanda Perez and appointed Madeline England and Devin Savage to fill the resulting two-year vacancies. England and Savage were sworn in at the meeting and will serve through the next election cycle.
After the appointments the board reorganized its officers: Dan Freeman was named board president, Joanne Marsden vice president and Kristyn Bair secretary. The board also set representative assignments for regional bodies including NTDSE, Ed-RED, IASB and the Collaborative for Curriculum (CFC). The actions followed a process the board described in which 22 applicants were screened and 10 candidates interviewed during the spring.
