Landfill operator resigns citing workload; staffing and equipment issues to be discussed next meeting

Landfill Director Paul Klose reported that landfill business has increased and that the facility has installed new weighing and billing software. A step hanger for the Develon loader was ordered and was delivered in two days, but the loader fender was damaged in a single-vehicle incident and needs replacement; Swinderski has been contacted to coordinate replacement and maintenance.

Klose reported the landfill operator submitted his resignation, citing increasing workload, fill-in availability/ability and difficulty using paid time off (PTO). Klose recommended hiring another operator to accommodate rising patron numbers; the committee will discuss the issue as an action item at the next meeting (scheduled July 10, 2026, at the Marinette County Resource Center). The minutes do not record the operator’s name or an effective resignation date.
