The Board of Education of School District 68 voted on a series of routine but consequential governance items during its Aug. 15 regular meeting. Trustee Jeffrey Sterbenc moved to approve the June 20, 2024 regular and closed-session minutes; the motion, seconded by Dr. Noelle Sullivan, passed on a roll-call vote with ayes from Bell-Jordan, Hayat, Lonigro, Sterbenc, Sullivan and Warshaw.
Trustee Sterbenc then moved approval of the meeting's consent agenda, seconded by Ms. Anne Warshaw. The consent package included employee personnel reports, financials (Fund Balance for June and July 2024 and the Statement of Position), pay orders and expenditures, non-public facility placement contracts with Child's Voice, Brightmont Academy and Safe Haven, and a THIS reimbursement agreement with Dr. James Garwood. The board's roll call recorded all listed trustees as ayes and the motion carried. The board also approved the Illinois State Board of Education Life/Health/Safety Survey on a motion by Dr. Sullivan and seconded by Ms. Hayat, and approved the Notice of Appointment of Authorized Agent naming Ms. Kenya Austin as assistant superintendent of business/chief school business official.
