County board approves rezoning in Town of Lena to regularize a residence

On June 18 the Oconto County Board adopted Ordinance A2026-06-02 (RZ-20260018), approving a rezoning request filed May 4, 2026, by property owners Cody and Sophia Desterhoff. The measure changes the zoning classification for Tax Parcel #020-101001223A1 (Part of Section 10, T29N, R20E, Town of Lena) from Agricultural District to Rural Residential District to bring approximately 5.1 acres into compliance as a residence.
The Land & Water Resources Committee held a public hearing on June 8, 2026, received testimony, reviewed the staff report and recommended approval consistent with county rezoning standards. The ordinance was adopted by electronic vote 27 Ayes, 0 Nays, 3 Absent, 0 Abstain, 1 Vacant and becomes effective the day after passage and publication.
