Committee organizes subcommittees tied to proviso and requests targeted data from agencies

The chair guided the group through the six proviso items and solicited volunteers to lead work on specific pieces of the mandate. Brian agreed to prepare material on the state's claims processes; Tina, Rochelle, Julie, Mike, Paul and Mary volunteered to help compile comparisons and best practices from other states. Micah agreed to begin preliminary research on alternative adjudication processes and neutral hearing officer models.

Alex and others emphasized the need for concrete agency data before making recommendations, asking for items such as ERP resolution rates, how often claims resolve within statutory periods, assignment patterns, and time-to-resolution. The chair agreed to contact relevant agency staff (including Jason at DES) to request available datasets and to circulate details on who will compile what by the next meeting.
