Nancy Bellosa reviewed recent legislative changes that affect plan design and confirmed the district has adjusted its plans to comply. She summarized January 1, 2025 changes already incorporated (including a cap on EpiPen costs and a requirement that vaginal estrogen be covered at the same level as erectile dysfunction medications) and outlined July 1, 2025 requirements such as insulin cost caps, removal of dollar limits for hearing aids, coverage for medically necessary compression sleeves and home saliva cancer screening, removal of gender references for some screening codes, and coverage of annual preventive mental-health visits for children and adults.
Bellosa stated the plans have been adjusted "in accordance with the law." The subcommittee received the overview for compliance; no legal citations or ordinance numbers were provided at the meeting and staff did not identify outstanding compliance issues.
