Council discussed Broward County’s mandatory annual ethics training for elected officials and the county Office of the Inspector General's monitoring of compliance. Councilmember Jeff Grenell told the council he had not completed required ethics training for a period of two years, acknowledged the lapse, and said he intends to complete additional ethics training going forward.
Administration will continue sending reminders about training opportunities, add ethics‑training reminders to council agendas before due dates, and maintain certification records on the village website. Newly elected officials must complete required training within the timeframe established after taking office.
