The Village of Lazy Lake council voted 4–0 on Feb. 5 to ratify electronic invoice payments issued since Nov. 6, 2025, after members clarified that the invoices represented checks that had already been issued and mailed. Councilmember Arnold Aliff moved to approve the consent agenda invoices; Councilmember William Daugherty seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The council deferred approval of the Nov. 6, 2025 meeting minutes to the March 12, 2026 meeting. During the consent discussion the council also reviewed recent development‑review expenses tied to a project on NE 24th Street and heard from Village staff about how planner review costs are handled. The Village Attorney explained that developers are charged a $1,300 consultant fee in addition to application fees; the Village collects those fees and then pays the planner to ensure the municipality does not bear most review costs.
