Council directs ordinance to update procurement thresholds, manager authority

Town Manager Suzanne Harvey told the council the procurement code has not been updated in years and that current thresholds (requiring RFPs for items over $10,000) now hinder timely purchasing for routine, budgeted work. Town Attorney Thomas Benavidez indicated he agreed with the suggested changes. Mayor Johann Wallace directed staff to return an ordinance updating procurement rules at the next meeting.
