Councilmembers directed staff to pursue active enforcement of the Town’s code provisions on zoning, health and safety, building standards and neighborhood preservation after staff reported multiple resident complaints.
Town Manager Suzanne Harvey told the council staff had discussed enforcement with the police department and legal counsel and warned that aggressive enforcement could prompt legal challenges and added costs. Council agreed that active, equal application of code enforcement was the desired approach going forward.
