Mayor Terry Matthews told the board that village Attorney Matt Welch and his law firm recently took on a new client whose meeting times conflict with the village's existing schedule. Matthews asked whether the board would agree to move regular meetings to the second and fourth Mondays of each month; the board agreed to the change and Attorney Erin Blake said her firm would draft an ordinance to formalize the new schedule.
Mayor Matthews also said he needed a special meeting to approve the proposal for the village's 2025 audit; trustees agreed to hold that special meeting on Thursday, June 18 at 4:00 p.m. Clerk Catherine Linan was asked to prepare materials and notices for the session.
The motion to reschedule requires a formal ordinance to take effect; the minutes record the board's consensus to proceed and the attorney's office will prepare enabling language.
